Meta’s first smart glasses without a camera are on sale today. Ray-Ban Meta Audio starts at $349 and comes in two frames, the Clubmaster and the Burbank, across 23 frame and lens combinations. Every one of them can take prescription lenses.

Dropping the camera bought Meta weight and battery. The glasses weigh 43 grams, compared with roughly 50 grams for the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2, and Meta rates them for up to 12 hours on a charge, or six hours of nonstop audio. The case adds up to 48 more hours and gets them to 50% in 22 minutes. You still get open-ear speakers, six mics for calls, and Meta AI, all through the Meta AI app on iPhone or Android.

The catch is the price. As Tom’s Guide points out, the camera-equipped Gen 2 is only $30 more at $379. Still, if you wanted the speakers without pointing a camera at everyone around you, this is the pair Meta should have made first.
