Anyone hoping to get an iPhone Duo under the tree this year is probably out of luck. As of 8:30 a.m. ET, 9to5Mac reports that every color and storage configuration of Apple's foldable was showing an estimated ship date of January 25, with some buyers seeing January 29. Early this morning only some models had slipped that far.

The Verge says the estimates moved into next year in less than an hour after orders opened at 8 a.m. ET. The people who got in right away will still get their phones on Friday, October 23. Supply was expected to be tight: 9to5Mac points to a Nikkei Asia report from last month saying Apple was building only a few hundred Duo units a day.

The other option is a store. MacRumors says some Apple Stores may have walk-in stock on launch day, though inventory will likely be very limited, and Apple's site says to check back on Saturday, October 24 to reserve an in-store pickup. Scalpers have already moved in, with eBay listings asking as much as $5,200 for a phone that starts at $1,999.
