OnePlus announced the Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro in China today, and the spec sheet reads like a dispatch from a different timeline — one where phone batteries kept growing instead of stalling at 5,000mAh. Both phones pack a 9,000mAh silicon-carbon "Glacier" battery with 100W SuperVOOC charging, a built-in active cooling fan, and a 6.78-inch 1.5K OLED that refreshes at 165Hz system-wide and up to 185Hz inside supported games, according to GSMArena.
The fan is the genuinely odd part. The Ace 7 Pro uses a dual-airflow design with two air intakes and two exhaust grilles, and OnePlus vented it through the camera island — an unorthodox choice where rivals like RedMagic put vents on the side frame. That room cost something: the Pro skips the ultrawide camera entirely, shipping with a 200MP main sensor and a 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto instead. Despite the moving part, the Pro still carries IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings.
Under the hood, the Ace 7 Pro runs the full Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, while the standard Ace 7 gets the new Gen 5V — Notebookcheck notes it's the same CPU with the GPU split into two slices and less dedicated memory. The screen is a 6.78-inch LTPO panel with granular 1–165Hz control, 2,000-nit peak brightness, and 3,840Hz PWM dimming.
The prices are what make this stinging for everyone outside China. The Ace 7 starts at CNY 4,399 (about $660) and the Ace 7 Pro at CNY 4,799 (about $720), with a 16GB/1TB Pro topping out around CNY 7,299. Both go on sale November 3 through Oppo's online store — China-only for now, though the Ace line has a long history of rebadging as the R-series, and GSMArena notes some expect the vanilla Ace 7 to become the OnePlus 16R abroad.
The pattern is hard to miss: in China, the spec race is batteries, thermals, and refresh rates, with silicon-carbon cells now pushing flagship phones toward 9,000mAh while American phones cling to half that. OnePlus clearly knows exactly which spec sheet gamers look at first — it just doesn't sell that sheet here.
